Thank you for the invitation to participate in your clinical trial.

I would love to participate but…

the study has this document, a consent form that is 50 pages long. There are sections that are very confusing and must have been written by a lawyer. Even though you and your staff spent so much time with me and answered all my questions, I found the process very overwhelming.

I want to participate but…

there are so many visits and they’re so close together. I know that you said that some of them could be done from my home, but I don’t feel comfortable with someone coming to my home.

I need this opportunity to participate but…

your coordinator said that they thought I might not qualify after they saw my height and weight on the medical history my doctor sent over with the referral. You see, my BMI is 30.4 and I believe the highest it can be in the study is 30.

I hope I can participate but…

I work full time and the reimbursement being provided in the study isn’t enough for me to take time off work or cover childcare.

I’m desperate to participate but…

even though there is no treatment approved to treat my condition, there are just so many barriers to my participation.
